Tomte på loftet!

A few months ago I posted about helping out some friends to turn their office into a fun and functional loft room for their 6 year old daughter. http://frankiewasright.blogspot.se/2013/02/snakes-and-ladders.html

Here are the results!

  1. Hi there,

I'm trying (unsuccessfully) to get a contact email for you. Is this loft bed/kids room your design or did you find this somewhere else? I'm trying to contact the designer for possible placement on HGTV. Many thanks for your help!

  2. Hey there haystack needle!
Thank you for showing an interest in my work! Yes, I designed this room for some friends of mine in Stockholm. I've sent you a private message and look forward to hearing from you soon.

    1. Hi Lola,
The railing is made of a series of balusters that are set, glued and screwed into holes (of the same shape) made in the 4" x 4" frame. It is also fixed to the wall on the far end. Having the balusters inset creates a very strong railing!

    1. Hi Tanna,
The ceiling is 36" from the top of the mattress. It is close but I am 5' 9" and can sit up there quite comfortably.

  13. Is the door under the loft bed the entrance to the room?
What are the dimension of the room itself. It is such a cool way to maximize space in a small room and not obstructing the windowed area or slicing the room off at the side.... Would love more pictures!
